Moving Mississippi Forward

Hello! It is with great excitement that I begin my first year as a MECA board member.  I want to take a moment to introduce myself to you, but first I want to invite you to attend the 2010 MECA conference.  The 2010 conference will be one of the most exciting conferences MECA has ever seen.  As we work aggressively and with excitement this year, the “Cultivating Connections” theme could never be timelier. We live in a society that is changed from years past.  Our students and even businesses are now dependent upon their virtual “networks.”  Technology has changed the way we work, live and learn. Many things you will see at the 2010 conference will be unprecedented. Stay very tuned to the MECA website. You will not want to miss this conference.
 
I am the owner of Benchmark Technology located in Meridian, MS.  As a former technology administrator and college educator, I established Benchmark in 2006 with the purpose of promoting technology aggressively in Mississippi. Today, Benchmark is a full service IT company providing educational services, hardware and software sales, and full IT support and service to educational institutions across the state.  We’re educators at Benchmark, and we are excited to fulfill those rolls through this avenue.
 
As we look today at what technology is doing in classrooms across the country, we see that some of the most innovative and promising practices in education involve technology. At Benchmark Technology, we want to promote and support those same innovative practices throughout Mississippi. MECA is the place where we can all join together in our efforts. 
 
Make your plans now to attend the 2010 MECA Conference. You will be exposed to the latest classroom innovations, and you will have the opportunity to interact with other educators as we together move Mississippi forward. I look forward to serving you as a new MECA board member, and I look forward to meeting you personally at the 2010 conference!
