How do I attend the MECA 2021 Virtual Conference?  

MECA 2021 Conference will be held virtually on February 23, 2021. The conference is free to attendees.  To register for free, click here.

 

Do I need a code to get in the sessions? 

After you complete your free registration, you will receive an email with a code and instructions to log in to the MECA Conference event site (or Attendify App).  Note: The event site is not www.ms-meca.org. 

 

What software(s) will I need for the Conference? 

The conference software platform will be powered by Attendify.  Click https://ve.attendify.com/index/55z21f/s_55z21f/login to attend.  Also, the conference Live sessions will be powered by Zoom.  To download Zoom, please click the link to download the software. 

 

Are attendees required to be present on the day of the conference? 

The conference will consist of Live and Pre-recorded sessions. We would love to see all attendees on the conference day, but we do understand if you can’t attend in real-time.  All sessions will be accessible one month after the conference.  Check out our upcoming schedule and plan your day. You don’t want to miss the live session interaction!

 

How long are the sessions? 

Each concurrent session will be 40 minutes (includes Q & A) and Keynote/Closing is two hours.

 

Can I ask presenters questions? 

Yes, you will have the opportunity to ask presenters questions.  Pre-recorded presenters will be available to answer questions via chat using Attendify during their scheduled session(s).

 

Is the Keynote/Closing session live?

We are excited to offer our Keynote/Closing session live featuring the astounding and highly energetic keynote speaker, Dr. Adolph Brown.  Attendees will be able to ask Doc Brown questions during the live session.  Of course, there is no MECA without door prizes!  Door prizes will be given away following the Keynote Speaker.  Attendees must be present to win Closing Session door prizes.  This does not include conference contests. The Keynote session will begin at 2:30 pm and the Closing will be immediately after.

 

Will vendors be available?

Yes, attendees will be able to visit Vendors at their virtual booth.  We are excited to offer a “Meet Now” feature to allow you to communicate and ask questions directly.  MECA loves our vendors and their support...so, visit our vendors’ booths!  

 

There are two options for attendees to win prizes by visiting the exhibitor virtual booths.

 

• Play Easy Lotto to qualify to win $50.  All you have to do is visit each virtual booth and complete the Easy Lotto form. The more Exhibitors you visit, the more chances you have to win.

 

• Hit the Meet Now Jackpot to win $50 by chatting with exhibitors via the Meet Now feature available in the virtual booths.  All you have to do is go to the virtual booth and click the Meet Now button to begin a live session with the booth representatives.  The booth representative will provide you with the link to complete the Meet Now JackPot form at the end of the session.

 

Will CEUs or SEMIs be offered?

MECA 2021 attendees will have the opportunity to obtain .5 CEUs for $10 provided by Mississippi College. Payment will be accepted online only. Click here to sign up for CEU information. Attendees must view at least one session from each concurrent session and complete the necessary paperwork by March 2nd at midnight. The Keynote Session is considered a concurrent session.  Additional information will be sent closer to the conference. Be sure to complete the information form to receive CEUs instructions. Unfortunately, SEMIs will not be offered due to the length of the conference.

How can I win door prizes?

Door prizes will be given away following the Keynote Speaker.  Attendees must be present to win.  Also, visit our Contests webpage for more giveaway opportunities.

 

If I registered but cannot attend do I need to cancel?

No. The conference will consist of Live and Pre-recorded sessions.  Live sessions will be recorded and uploaded for future view.  All sessions will be accessible one month after the conference. Check out our upcoming schedule and plan your day. 

 

Where will the MECA Mini-Grant, Admin of the Year, and Contest winners be announced? 

Winners will be announced during the Closing session following the Keynote presentation.
